I came home to al-Ram tonight from Jerusalem. Maybe not the best decision, but I Claire was here alone and I didn't feel comfortable leaving her here by herself. I know she can take care of herself, and I know it's one of those irrational things, but it's ok. Things are actually calm, or more calm than I was expecting. There are still people on the streets, and the shooting has abated some it sounds like. I am not 100% sure, but I am pretty confident it is coming from the direction of Ramallah. The girls came down from Jenin, and the other crew from Bethlehem. The Bethlehem girl had stories about masked gunmen in the streets arresting people and directing traffic. Apparently they are police, but why the masks?
We've got a lot of this pretty carefully figured out, and if we need to leave I think we'll be able to get out.
I am not even going to try to do a news roundup, there is just too much. I would suggest you just check Ma'an and Ha'aretz for updates.
If things are going to get bad, they are going to get bad in the next two days.

I hit on your website by "accident" and have loosely followed your travels because they are so interesting. With the fighting going on, I pray for your safety and that of your companions.
